Fraser Island

Canopy

Fraser Island is a large sand island off the coast of southern Queensland. Its over 120km long and, if you get off the main 4WD tracks, is a great place to go walking. Much of the vegetation is rainforest, like this.

The water in these creeks is so clear and moving so gently that they can look completely empty, especially when the canopy prevents you from catching a reflection of the sky.

Fraser Island is famous for its freshwater lakes. They range from crystal clear to slightly blue or green.
