Here are some closeups of a flowering Anigozanthus (Kangaroo Paw). Its a small plant from Western Australia that sends up long stalks topped by these very distinctive flowers in late spring. This one has been in a pot on my back verandah for about 2 years. Last year it hardly flowered at all. This year it went beserk. To give you an idea of scale, the spider (see #4) is about 5mm wide, maybe less. |
